Gutemala

When we first entered Gutemala from the Usumacinta river, we had to drive 2 hours on gravel until we found an actual road. Our first stop was what I will loosely call a restaurant (more like someones home with a table outside) where they cooked us up a BBQ . You told them what meat you wanted and got back a super tasty char-grilled meal. It was awesome!

We kept driving until we came to the town of San Jose, where we stayed by a beautiful lake, Lagen Peten Itza. We got to go swimming and kayaking after a long day in the bus.

From San Jose, we traveled to the Tikal ruins. These are set on a massive site that spans for miles. You get to climb to the top of these ruins and look out over the site which is mighty impressive.

Out stay in Guatemala was short but beautiful.. next stop Belize
